Florida’s Section 5311 sub-recipient agencies must adopt one of two FDOT model substance abuse policies. Employees or applicants who violate the drug and alcohol testing program by testing positive or refusing a DOT required drug or alcohol test must be immediately removed from safety sensitive duty and provided a referral to a qualified Substance Abuse Professional. This Zero Tolerance version of the model policy provides for immediate termination of any DOT covered employee in violation of the policy. Download Document
